Rick named his restaurant Alchemy after alchemists. In the same way that alchemists had the goal of turning common metals into precious metals, Rick turns raw produce into fabulous food creations.

Rick has worked in the catering industry for more than 20years and has a strong catering history having worked as a manager within the catering department of Liverpool Football Club for six years. Rick has also worked in London at the Strand Palace Hotel and locally at The Beaufort Park Hotel. Rick also studied at Chester College gaining a degree in Computer Science and Maths.

Rick trained as a Chef in the late 80’s and since has worked in a variety of kitchens with different culinary backgrounds from Italian to Asian. His menu today is a mix of all his experiences and his food is full of many wonderful flavours.

Rick has also been a key organiser of The Mold Food and Drink Festival since its creation in 2006. He is currently and active member of The Mold Hotel & Restaurant Association and Mold 2000.

Rick is passionate about quality food and always seeks to use local produce where possible.
